The 2016 collaborative LP between electroacoustic composer Murcof and pianist Vanessa Wagner saw the duo interpreting music by the likes of Aphex Twin and John Cage for a modern classical LP of unique wares. On this offshoot EP, we get to hear Wagner’s take on AT’s ‘Avril 14th’ without manipulation, and her version stays true to the original while speeding things up a little and adding greater dynamic range. She also provides a solo piano rendering of David Moore’s ‘Tyler in The Road’. Loscil comes in for remix duties, turning ‘Avril 14th’ into a huge ambient trip similar to bvdub’s post-rock-inspired soundscapes. Si Begg provides a lowkey techno rendering of the pair’s take on John Cage’s ‘In A Landscape’.
