Lukid & Tapes AKA Rezzett’s third release of 2023 is a very welcome addition to their faultless catalogue since their debut album in 2018, and comes in strong with the commanding thumps of the opening title track. The carbonated, alarm-like percussion of ‘Boshly’ pushes wandering vocalisations forward into the ruckus of ‘Dots’, with moody subs, wildly ecstatic vocal samples, and crackling breaks aplenty. ‘Kermit’ literally swerves in with screeching tyre rhythms over golden synths and an overdriven bass, coming down with the subterranean luminescence of ‘Extra Redundant’.
