UK experimentalist Kel McKeowen returns to Kit Records for his tenth (and supposedly) final full length under his Kelpe moniker titled with little fanfare as LP10. The London man stakes his usual claim somewhere between room-swallowing ambience and dancefloor-laded hedonism, though this time building from live acoustic drums, guitars, and analog synths alongside the usual arsenal of digital ephemera. Kelpe is always moving, between lounge-y jazz and hyperactive drum and bass on ‘Events Prove Me Wrong’ and ‘Dunderhead’ or simply between instruments themselves, as he plays virtually everything heard here. Suffice to say, LP10 is a remarkable showing and a fitting end to the Kelpe project.
