679 Recordings – Singles Club / Bleep Shop
We have launched a new page in collaboration with 679 Recordings, a singles club for people to get decent high-quality (320k) drm-free MP3’s of the latest singles from both 679 and Paul Epworth’s Good and Evil label. Go to the full page at 679recordings.com/singles for releases from Kano, Plan B, Futureheads remixes, Epicman (Paul Epworth) and Mystery Jets, with more added regularly.

New FLAC Additions
For people interested in buying FLAC (lossless, CD quality audio) we have been adding more releases in this format. Details of some of these additons are below, or go to the FLAC page at Bleep here to see the latest. Bear in mind that all new releases on Bleep are in 320k MP3 anyway (the best possible MP3 quality) so for the majority of people this is fine. FLAC files are much bigger and take longer to download, and are priced higher.
Info: FLAC is an archive audio format that can be decoded into any format you wish, use it to run off MP3s, WMA files, whatever - as if you had the CD itself. FLACS can be played back as they are in Windows Media and winamp (with a plugin), and on all other players once they are decoded to MP3 or similar. Decoding is simple and straightforward for anyone - see the links below. FLACs are also supported by popular DJ software like Ableton Live 5 and Native Instrument’s Traktor 3.

London Sinfonietta – Warp Works and 20th Century Masters (Warp)

Double album documenting the concerts performed by the London Sinfonietta & Warp artists in 2003 and 2004. The world renowned orchestra re-interpret classic Warp tracks, presented alongside performances of other 20th Century modern classical masterpieces from Steve Reich, Stockhausen, John Cage and more.

Junior Boys – So This is Goodbye (Domino)

After 2004’s underground smash “Last Exit” and the departure of Johnny Dark from the band (who released a solo EP on Kin recently) Junior Boys are back with their follow up which has been greeted with feverish acclaim all over the place. The beats are stripped back and simplified (revealing Dark to be the rhythmical powerhouse of the original lineup) but the song writing and sheer wide appeal of their music has been upped several notches. An album that harks back to classic heartstring-tugging electropop but with a fresh, modern edge. Totally recommended. Bleep bonus track exclusive - the Morgan Geist mix of The Equalizer

The Veils – Nux Vomica (Rough Trade)

"The Veils' 2002 debut album was founded on fey romance and misery, but this is a heady blast of gothic psychodrama. Here, mainman Finn Andrews has reincarnated himself as a hellfire preacher who has embraced atheism. What's more, his new band mates empathise with his musical vision, especially Liam Gerrard whose spooky organ groan anchors Andrews's stinging barks on the likes of 'Jesus for the Jugular'. There are lugubrious shades of Tom Waits and antipodean gothfather Nick Cave here, but Nux Vomica has its own type of elegant, seductive power. 4 Stars." The Observer

  Milanese – Extend (Planet Mu)

After releases on Warp and Arcola, midlands beatmonger Milanese has a new home at Planet Mu. Probably his best material yet, this album reinforces Milanese’s growing reputation and proves beyond doubt that Planet Mu is home to some of the most exciting dancefloor productions coming out of the UK at the moment.

Neil Landstrumm – Harlem Wake Up (Planet Mu)

After his bleepy rework of Happy Mondays/Joy Division, techno legend Landstrumm releases this slice of early 90’s ravestep on Planet Mu. ‘Kids Wake Up’ is SL2-meets-LFO, with cut and paste scratches, sped up loops, sirens, testone-style bleeps and massive bass. ‘Harlem Shoot Me’ combines all of the above with a dubstep tempo. Just get it.
